Fullerton Railway Plaza Association (FRPA) unveils
Model Railroad Historical Society:
The FRPA Model Railroad Historical Society (FMRHS),
a committee of the FRPA, will make its debut as part of Fullerton Railroad
Days 2000. Recently formed, the FMRHS is a volunteer organization that
utilizes the skills of model railroading to convey the history of the railroads
and the communities they served. The FMRHS plans to construct an historically
accurate model railroad layout focused on Southern California, with special
emphasis on Orange County and Fullerton. Be sure to stop by their booth
at Fullerton Railroad Days to see their plans and initial efforts. The
booth will contain a scale model display of the Fullerton station area-
circa 1950, along with a photo gallery of vintage scenes of Fullerton and
the railroads of the region. Interested in becoming involved? There will

Fullerton
Railroad Days is an educational, family oriented event which is free
to the public. The event promotes rail safety, rail travel, and the
historic connection of Southern California to the Railroads. Additional
attractions include tours of AMTRAK passenger cars, locomotives, and the
US Postal train, “Celebrate the Century”. The event also features model
railroad layouts of every major scale, various youth and civic organizations,
local historical societies, railroad and historical museums, public service
organizations, safety programs from the railroads, musical entertainment
and food. .
Fullerton Railroad Days is held next to the Fullerton
AMTRAK Station, 124 E. Santa Fe Avenue in Fullerton. The event is Saturday
and Sunday, May 13 & 14, starting at 9:00AM until 6:00PM on Saturday,
